Mirela came up to Ames last weekend to take senior photos during Sunday afternoon, and we started the session off on ISU's campus as there was still a little bit of fall colors left.
The light shining through the leaves created a fantastic effect and mood for these photos.
The golden glow is absolutely fantastic!
We then moved out to a small park east of campus only about 3-5 minutes by car. This cobblestone staircase made for a neat setting as a backdrop!
Walking back towards the road, we got some neat photos on the bridge only slightly blocking traffic on it momentarily!
Mirela started to put some attitude in these photos that made them stand out with an impact and a bit of her own personality. She has some great sense of style as well!
We then went out under the railroad bridge as the other bridge I had planned on using was under construction. The graffiti worked well for getting a grungy look that went well with her change of outfits.
After this location, we went downtown to get two great locations! This one with the ivy wall turned out amazing! Certainly, it is one of my favorite portraits I have taken ever!
This spiral staircase was nearby, and we had gotten permission a week prior to shoot on it by the owner which I am glad we did! This is another great photo from the day!
The final location we went to was out north of Ames to a lake. This photo in the grass was an impromptu shoot that we quickly did after getting out of the cars.
We then went onto a dock quickly before getting the big planned sunset shot! Glad we did because it turned out great!
Here are the photos we had been waiting to get. Mirela loves sunsets, and we had to get a great unique photo with her there. Luckily, the sunset was absolutely perfect!
A happy accident from the shoot where my flash didn't fire, and we got a silhouette of her against the sunset.
We brought along a golden fabric for her to hold and stand out even more in the surreal sunset! I could not be any happier with how this turned out!
At the end of the day, we had many amazing photos that Mirela and her family can have to document her senior year! Absolutely fantastic girl and family I am so happy to have had the opportunity to be their photographer!
