I am leading this post with my favorite image from the photoshoot, so it won't get better than the photo above. Don't leave though because it was a tough decision to choose a favorite because there are so many good ones!
P.S. I'll leave #2 at the bottom!
Starting out inside we got some nice headshot looks for Connor. We had a nice large desk to use in the room which we used as a prop letting him be the exec for some photos.
Connor seemed to enjoy this setting, and the photos looked great! We decided to have some fun with it and have him do the "your fired" Donald Trump look.
The photos were turning out great, but we needed to head outside to get some more looks using the sun! Luckily, there were clouds out to make the lighting outside really nice and soft. The clouds also made for a really nice look when I put Connor in a landscape.
The photos above are some of the first really dynamic looking shots of Connor I tried with the landscape. They turned out so well that I decided at that moment to make that look the focus for the rest of the time.
We walked around the Capital area taking photos as we went along at different spots. Trying to have fun and enjoy the photoshoot as much as possible. Changing shirts a couple of times to get different looks as we went along.
The photoshoot really started to get into a groove at this point. I started shooting with an ultra-wide lens to give the photographs the hyperrealistic look and drama. The flash really helped to create a ton of drama in the dark alley as well!
Right around the corner was another really neat brick wall and area that we used to get neat looks in the photos. It also worked great for 3/4 shots, upper body, and full body shots against the orange bricks!
At this point, the sun was getting low on the horizon. We decided it was time to catch the sunset at Waterworks Park. The clouds were just perfect for this time of day, and they only got better as they broke apart to the west letting the last rays of sun in for the day!
I had been to this bridge once before a little less than a year ago taking photos of it for fun. This time was much better though with the light, angles, and subject!
It was time for one last location change. We went over to the bridge by the Botanical Center in downtown Des Moines. He thought we might go up on top the bridge, but instead we went down beneath it to be the water under it, and the second best shot from the shoot with the city in the background and tons of color in the sky!
