A lot has happened in 2019, but much of it hasn’t been photography related. I haven’t even purchased any new photography gear in an entire calendar year! In my personal life I have gotten married, moved, and earned a promotion. We got married in Hawaii, which is a great photography location, but the trip was not meant for taking landscape images. So, while I haven’t really done anything major in photography in 2019 it doesn’t mean I wasn’t able to capture some really nice images!

Persistence in Landscape Photography
There are plenty of things that go into being successful in landscape photography. You might think of gear because of how technical it is or the connections to others in the profession whether art or influencers. However, I believe that the most important thing is persistence across everything you do. It is the pursuit of perfection (not necessarily always achieving it though) across various parts of landscape photography that makes you successful.

Photographers typically start out learning the medium by reading manuals and watching guides on how to use the camera. As artists, we are not meant to be architects of technically perfect images. Computers are designed to attempt to achieve an ‘ideal’ exposure according to whoever designed them.
